Buehna captura macro jaime?

Hi,
I am new to photography. I took this photo last summer at Yellow Stone. How would rate this photograph?
Is it of good enough photo to send to a good competition?
I would highly appreciate your comments.
Thanks,
Sid Jain

carmen la fuente alvarez,
I think this photo is 'magic'.
Tehcnically it is very deficient; taken at night and not 'correct' in many ways.
But for me it still is 'magic'.
I wish I could take a portfolio of such photos.
Thanks for the helpful assessment.
By the way, she's Mexican, which may show a heritage of intermarriage with indigenous Americans (native Americans, at one time known as Indians -- Mexico has a huge population of such individuals).
Even if 'Mexican' it may be in heritage only, as she may indeed be a US citizen.
She was young and friendly and a pretty good dancer, (and of course very happy to be making money for dancing) a happy cojunction.

Maria Salvador,
Thank you for the compliment; I took about eight or so shots I consider 'great' within the genre and so symmmetrical, at this one spot within four minutes, if one considers color AND black and white (blanco y negro).
I always appreciate it when you stop by.
My best regards,
john

Antonio,
Regrettably, my encounter with this man was brief.
Police and fire/paramedic personal refused to take my name or that of my limo driver, so unless someone finds this photo here connected with his legal matters, I never will hear about this matter again.
As an attorney ending over 22 years ago, I handled many such cases.
If this man does not have insurance, and he is a legal immigrant with a license, his license surely will be suspended, and the rest of his life in ruins for the short term.
If he was lucky enough to hire a capable attorney, and if he had more than 'soft tissue' injuries then eventually he might get a monetary recovery, but almost to a one, such recoveries never pay sufficiently to compensate for losses to one's health, work, even loss of housing.
Many Americans (and immigrants do not have medical insurance except through their auto insurance and then often only in very small amounts . . . so it is likely his bills 'for emergency treatment only' will be payable by the public . . . and if no insurance and no money . . .his ailments will go untreated.
Happy ending?
You are looking at the start of an unhappy ending.
He doesn't exactly know it, but these things are no Cinderella stories.
Regrettably.
But then we'll never know for sure. Mine is informed speculation based on a long history of working with such individuals and knowledge of such matters, but I could be quite wrong in one individual case . . . . I just doubt it.
Sorry to report.

La Laguna (The Lagoon) by Jonny Santo
Hola Jonny.

'The Gallery' by John Crosley
In retrospect, one of the 'best of the best'.
Looking back a couple of months to when this was taken, at a point where I drove by a gallery opening, drove endlessly around blocks and blocks seeking a parking spot, then paid for a spot, walked in, unannounced and smiling, started to take photos.
Only toward the end did the gallery presenter/exhibition coordinator/producer come to me and ask 'who are you?, to which I responded politely I was often in another country, a photographer, happened to be passing, and was looking for something 'amazing'.
I think I got it.
She asked for possible copies, took my e-mail, but I never heard from her again.
Too bad. I'd like to hear from her, just to learn particulars about the two artists (or three) and the two left-most arts works hanging.
The more I look at this photo, the more it pleases me; it grows on me and is sufficiently bizarre/surreal and at the same time has good enough composition to attract me again and again without being saccharin.
I try to be a good guest, and thoroughly enjoyed these people, and tried not to step on any toes. (once, when I was not photographing actively, I actually did step on the toes of ballet virtuoso Mikhail Baryshnikov. He was not dancing that night, was in the audience at intermission, looking 'the other way' and so was I, and I brought down all my large weight on one of his corn-covered feet.
Luckily nothing broke.
He should have been looking, instead of counting the house (and gate) and so should I.
Luckily, there was no lasting harm -- and being a ballet dancer (they endure almost constant pain) he was stoic about it.
That's my 'brush with greatness'.
